In conjuction of world cleaning day, JCI Kuala Lumpur West will be joint project with Associate Backpackers Malaysia (ABM) and Kiwanis Club for “Save Forest, Save your Environment” for Bukit Gasing reserve forest. Also this project is supported by MBPJ.
Introduction
Top of the Bukit Gasing forest which near “watch tower” area was burnt and around 500m square feet need to be recover by planting new trees.
Objectives
1. To assist in recovering the burning area of Bukit Gasing Forest by planting 350 new trees (4m x 4m)
2. To encourage people to participate and raise the level of environmental consciousness among them.
3. To build networks with others NGO and enlarge members socialization group
Programme details
The project will be divided into 3 stages as below:
Stage 1 (12 Sept 2009)
In conjunction with World Clean up Day during 18-20 Sept, stage 1 will be cleaning up the burnt area for new planting for stage 2. The duties require includes trim trees and throw away some baby trees.
Stage 2 (3 Oct 2009)
This is the actual planting day. The sepsis of the trees that is suitable for that area is Pokok Pulai, Kelempayang, Meranti Tembaga, Sesenduk, Terap Nasi, Mohagani, Petaling, Sentul, Kerdas, Petai.
Stage 3 (10 Oct 2009)
This will involve the 30 students to participate in this stage. They will be only planting trees in the lower hill; this is due to the safety purpose for students.
